On December 3-4, 2021, the 2021 IEEE International Conference on Digital Society and Intelligent Systems, organized by Southwest Jiaotong University and co-organized by the University of Technology Sydney, came to a successful conclusion. This is an online conference that attracted nearly 100 scholars. The theme of the conference mainly focuses on the development of relevant technologies and applications of intelligent systems in the digital society. Professor Tianrui Li, who is from the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence of Southwest Jiaotong University made an opening address. In his speech, he thanked all the participants and the IEEE Chengdu Section for their support of this conference. He then introduced the DSInS conference, which is a high-level international forum for scientists and engineers, aiming to introduce the latest theoretical research and application developments in the fields of digital society and intelligent systems. After introducing the guests attending the conference, Professor Tianrui Li expressed his wishes and expectations for the conference.

The conference invited Professor Jie Lu, who is the associate dean of the School of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Technology Sydney, Australia, Professor Yanchun Zhang, who is from Victoria University and the director of the Center for Applied Information Science, Australia, and Professor Yu Zheng, who is the Vice President of JD.COM and the Chief Data Scientist of JD Technology, to make keynote speeches. They brought a high-level academic sharing meeting on the frontier of digital society and intelligent systems to us.

On the afternoon of December 4, the conference was held in two parallel sessions. The first session invited Professor Herwig Unger from the University of Hagen in Germany, Professor Xiaohui Tao from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, Dr. Quan Bai from the University of Tasmania in Australia, and Dr. Jianjian Liu from NEC Corporation in Japan to give invited talks.

The second session invited Dr. Lin Qiu from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Dr. Jianxin Li from Deakin University in Australia, and Dr. Teng Fei from Southwest Jiaotong University to give invited talks.


During the intermission of the conference, some exquisite posters were displayed in the form of PPT. The conference was divided into two parallel sessions for oral presentations exchange. During the conference, experts and scholars warmly discussed and shared academic achievements. The conference built a broad platform for further international cooperation and exchanges in the future.
